Madonnas by dutch masters
went blind as Stieglitz’s
camera eye trapped O’Keeffee
against the New York sky
with eyes, above young breasts,
like those flowers, open, at rest.

Van Gogh’s Sunlight
Vague Van Gogh’s
astigmatic yellow
colored the pulse’s cry
tongue silent
to speak what no ear heard
in the sun bent madness
of southern France,
audible, for an instant,
on the canvas.
