About the Artist
Uwe
Schmidt-Hess was born in Neubrandenburg,
Germany.
From 2000-2001, he attended the School of Architecture, Oxford Brookes
University,
UK, and through 2003 earned a diploma in Architecture at
Bauhaus-University
Weimar, Germany. From 2003-2004, he worked as an achitect at Atrium
Design,
Bangkok, Thailand and at Fink + Jocher, Munich, Germany. Currently, he
is
working on his Masters in Architectural Design at Bartlett School of
Architecture, UCL,
UK. In
2003, Schmidt-Hess won a
prize in a design competition at Anting New Town, Shanghai, with Fink + Jocher, Munic.
In 2000,
he won a student prize in the competition, “Levendige Lebensträume.” He has
also been the recipient of numerous scholarships by the German Academic
Exchange Service, German National Merit Foundation, and the Carl
Guisberg
Society.
